The 2024 conference of the Colloquium on Information Systems Security Education (CISSE) celebrates its 28th year as the senior and premier conference on Cybersecurity Education. The conference will be held in Tampa, Florida at The University of Tampa from November 13 to 15, 2024.
The conference theme is:
Building a Resilient Cyber Culture: Education as the Foundation
Participating in the Colloquium are representatives from education, industry, and government with an interest in conducting productive conversations, present new ideas, and improve the content and curricula for cybersecurity teaching.
Interested parties are invited to submit papers for consideration of the Colloquium.
Submission Guidelines
To be considered for presentation at the 28th Colloquium, please submit an original, unpublished paper in the field of Cybersecurity Education by September 15, 2024 (see "List of Topics"). Parallel submissions are not accepted, but articles on pre-press or personal sites are not excluded.
Proceedings will be published online and selected papers will also be published in our Journal. Papers that have been presented at the 28th Colloquium will also be considered for further development and publication.
Papers should present a well-formed and capably written idea, which advances the field of cybersecurity, and which is adequately contextualized and sufficiently supported by the literature. The implications for general application should be clear as well as their advantage and importance to the at-large purposes of the field. Conclusions should be supported by analytic means, either empirical or subjectively derived through commonly accepted methods. Graphic, or tabular support is encouraged.
Generative AI and other automated methods for producing papers and research should be disclosed in the paper itself as part of the initial submission for peer review, though applications and processes will not be granted authorship.
Please use the IEEE Manuscript Template for your submission:
- Word count range of 3,000 to 4,000
- Include sufficient references that reflect sufficient consideration of the literature with a no-more-than 250 word abstract
- Be sure that all photos, graphs and illustrations have a print resolution of no less than 300 dpi and are original works
- Please retain all image sources, as they will be requested for print optimization
- Anonymization for double blind peer review is required or papers will be rejected.
- In the non-anonymized final draft ORCID numbers are required after author names. Please be sure to get these early in case of institutional transition of the author.
- Papers will be available in hardcopy, listed in index services through Crossref, and published with DOIs that have no paywall for immediate access
- DOI URL Links are required for all sources in the reference list where available, since The Colloquium registers with Crossref
Student Papers
Student paper authors must indicate student status upon submission. Students must be enrolled in a degree seeking program, and must be the primary author contributing to the content of the paper. Undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students are all welcome. One student will be chosen as the "Erich Spengler Student Paper of the Year" and receive free registration for the next year. The paper award will be announced at the Colloquium.
