Special Session
The AMCAI 2023 invites proposals for Special Sessions/Tracks to be held during the conference as a set of oral and poster presentations that are highly specialized in some particular theme applied in/to Artificial Intelligence. They intend to provide researchers in focused areas the opportunity to present and discuss their work, as well as to offer a forum for interaction among a broader community of researchers. A Special Session will consist of a group of papers in a sub-discipline of Artificial Intelligence related to the main topics of AMCAI 2023. The goal of special sessions (minimum 4 papers; maximum 9) is to provide a focused discussion on innovative topics around artificial intelligence. Special Session proposals have to be submitted electronically through EasyChair at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=amcai2023 with the following information before June 20, 2023 (Extended): Title & acronym of the special session, Brief profiles of special session organizers, General description of the special session scope, List of topics, Proposed special session Program Committee (to be invited).
The papers will be required to meet the same standards as AMCAI 2023 papers and will be published in the conference proceedings. All the Special Sessions and Doctoral Track will be centralized as tracks in the same conference submission and reviewing system as the regular papers. The organizers will be responsible for the advertisement and promotion of the special session and the conference including the Special Session webpage preparation. The management of papers review will be achieved by Special Session Committees, using the Conference System (a separate EasyChair track will be provided for each Special Session). The organizers are responsible for managing the review process. All the reviews should be submitted through the AMCAI 2023 conference system. Each paper should obtain at least Three reviews. The final decision as for the acceptance will be taken by the AMCAI 2023 Program Committee based on recommendations provided by Special Session organizers.
Doctoral Consortium
A doctoral consortium (DC) is a symposium dedicated to helping Ph.D. students in the course of their research work. Each student must present a paper describing her/his work at an intermediate phase before an advisory board, composed of highly qualified and experienced professors. The student should prepare a set of slides that clearly illustrate the main points of her/his Ph.D. project, leaving time enough for a discussion period in order to let the advisory board be helpful regarding the project's progression. Each Ph.D. project presentation is expected to last about 15 minutes. Students are also invited to prepare a poster about their Ph.D. for the main conference poster session.
Industrial Panel
The Industrial Panel is oriented to promote knowledge exchanges between academia and industry. A panel is a one-and-a-half-hour to 2 hours session in which 4 to 6 speakers - distinguished members of the scientific and/or enterprise community, briefly present different perspectives/opinions on key issues with the goal of stimulating a lively, controversial, and provocative discussion. Panelists are expected to actively debate one another and engage the audience to help broaden understanding of the technologies and issues.
Demo Track
The AMCAI-2023 Demonstrations Program aims to foster discussions and exchange of ideas among Afro-Mediterranean researchers and practitioners from academia and industry by displaying their software and hardware systems and research prototypes. Any written support materials may be distributed locally but not published in the proceedings. Authors who already present a paper at the conference may apply for a demonstration, to complement but not to replace their paper presentation. Demonstrations can also be made by sponsor companies or as a mixed initiative involving researchers and industrial partners. Demonstrations are based on an informal setting that encourages presenters and participants to engage in discussions about the presented work. This is an opportunity for the participants to disseminate practical results of their research and to network with other applied researchers or business partners.
