ECAP12: CALL FOR PAPERS AND SYMPOSIA
The European Society of Analytic Philosophy invites submissions for its 12th conference, ECAP12, to be held in Madrid (Spain) on 24-28 August 2026.

The ECAP12 Programme Committee invites contributed talks and symposia covering all subfields grouped into eleven Sections:

All topics in Analytic Philosophy are welcome. Everyone is encouraged to submit their contribution to the section they consider most relevant to the topic addressed in their work. The Scientific Committee will do its best to place contributions in the most suitable session block. Feel free to indicate your preferred designation for your work’s area in the keywords field.
Submission types:
We invite submissions in any of the following two types:
Contributed Papers
We invite submissions of both a short abstract (max. 150 words) and an extended abstract (800-1000 words excl. title and references) through our submission system (Easychair) by 31 January 2026. To submit, please prepare your abstracts for blind review, and save your extended abstract as a PDF file. Then follow the link to our submission system. (Please note that first-time users must register as users of EasyChair.) The total time allocated to each contributed paper at the conference will be 35 minutes, of which max. 20 minutes will be for presenting the paper and the rest will be for Q&A.
Symposia
We invite submissions of both a short abstract (max. 150 words) and a full proposal through our submission system by 31 January 2026. The proposed symposium/panel discussion can have any format, but they must include at least 3 and at most 5 speakers. The total time allocated to each symposium is 115 minutes, of which max. 70 minutes will be for talks and the rest will be for Q&A.
The full proposal should include (a) the title of the proposed symposium, (b) the contact details of the organizer(s) (who may or may not be a proposed speaker), (c) the names of all speakers along with a link to their website/philpeople page (or a short CV (max. 1 page)), (d) a general description of the topic and its significance (800-1000 words, excl. title and references), (e) titles plus a brief description (max. 150 words) of each speaker’s talk. All parts of the proposal should be compiled into one PDF file.

Timeline:
- 31 January 2026 -- paper / symposia submission deadline
- 31 March 2026 (approx.) -- notification of acceptance
- 10 June 2026 -- final deadline for early-bird registration
- 15 July 2026 -- final deadline for speaker registration
Prize for best contribution by an early-career scholar
The European Society for Analytic Philosophy (ESAP) will award one prize in each section of the conference to recognize the best contribution by an early-career scholar. The prize includes:
- Free conference registration
- Accommodation covered by the conference (travel expenses to be borne by the recipient)
- Official announcement in the conference program
- Prize diploma
Evaluation and selection:
Winners will be selected on the basis of the evaluation scores assigned by the two referees to their submission.
Eligibility:Eligible candidates are:
- Postgraduate students (MA, MSc or PhD candidates)
- Early-career scholars who have obtained their PhD no earlier than one year before the ECAP12 submission deadline — that is, those who obtained their PhD after January 31st 2025
