10th MCAE 2026
The Faculty of Political Economy in cooperation with the Master Programme in Economics of the Austrian School of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid will hold its tenth annual conference on Austrian Economics. The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars conducting research in this intellectual tradition.
List of Topics
The Scientific Committee invites the submission of papers related to Austrian Economics on subject areas such as value and utility, market behavior, money and banking, financial economics, business cycles, economic history, law or philosophy.
Nota bene: Only full papers should be submitted to the conference. (Abstracts do no qualify for the Best Paper Awards.)
To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the conference will conclude with a Gala Dinner at the Casino de Madrid, where the winners of the 2026 Global Liberty Youth Prize, sponsored by the Fundación Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester, will be announced. The recipients of the 2026 International Call for Research Grants of the Fundación Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester will also be presented at this event.
Invited Speakers
Among others, one keynote lecture will be held by Professor Jesús Huerta de Soto.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the conference, the Fundación Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester is awarding the four best papers ('Best Paper Award') with the Mises-Prize (€2,000), the Hayek-Prize(€1,750), the Rothbard-Prize (€1,500) and the Kirzner-Prize (€1,000).
Selected papers may be published – if desired by the author – in Procesos de Mercado: Revista Europea de Economía Política .
Venue
The conference will begin on Wednesday, October 28th, 2026 at 2:00 pm and will conclude with a Gala Dinner at the Casino de Madrid on Friday, October 30th, 2026.
The conference will be held on the premises of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid (Vicálvaro).
Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
The registration fee of €250 covers the conference dinner on Thursday evening, the Gala Dinner on Friday, the lunches on Thursday and Friday as well as the catering during the coffee breaks.
