The National Conference on Communications (NCC) is an annual conference organized by the Uganda Communications Commission who's objective is to present peer-reviewed research work, discuss engineering solutions to local challenges, understand industry trends and needs. The 8th Installment of the conference (NCC2023) is to be hosted by Kyambogo University.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
1. 5G and Beyond Networks: Exploring the potential of 5G, 6G, and future wireless technologies, addressing the challenges in designing advanced communication systems, and realizing ultra-fast, low-latency networks.
2. Internet of Things (IoT): Investigating the optimization, security, and connectivity of IoT devices, and focusing on their integration into various sectors such as healthcare, transportation, and smart cities.
3. Edge and Fog Computing: Examining the potential of edge and fog computing to improve the efficiency of communication networks and enable real-time processing and analysis of data at the network's edge.
4. Quantum Communications: Delving into the development and applications of quantum communication systems, which offer enhanced security and encryption methods for information transfer.
5. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Communications: Employing AI and ML techniques to optimize network performance, automate network management, and enhance the user experience in communication systems.
6. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV): Exploring the virtualization of network functions and the programmability of networks to improve flexibility, scalability, and efficiency in communication systems.
7. Green Communications: Investigating energy-efficient technologies and strategies for sustainable communication networks, including renewable energy sources, energy harvesting, and low-power hardware.
8. Visible Light Communications (VLC) and LiFi: Examining the potential of VLC and LiFi technologies to provide high-speed, energy-efficient, and secure wireless communication using visible light spectrum.
9. Cognitive Radio Networks: Studying the capabilities and applications of cognitive radio networks for dynamic spectrum allocation, improving spectrum efficiency, and supporting the coexistence of various wireless technologies.
10. Massive MIMO and Beamforming: Analyzing the potential of massive MIMO and beamforming techniques to enhance the capacity, coverage, and performance of communication networks, particularly in 5G and beyond technologies.
