Parallel 2026 is the flagship technical meeting dedicated to parallel kinematic mechanisms (PKMs) and related closed-chain and hybrid architectures. The conference brings together researchers and practitioners across the world working on theory, design, modeling, control, manufacturing, and applications of parallel mechanisms in domains such as machining, medical and surgical robotics, haptics, aerospace, construction, and more.
Following the convension of the 2002 (Québec), 2008 (Montpellier), 2014 (Tianjin) and 2020 (Belfast) editions that are six years apart, the 2026 meeting in Abu Dhabi, UAE, will feature peer‑reviewed papers, invited keynotes, tutorials, workshops, industrial demos, a student forum, and special sessions on emerging topics (e.g., reconfigurable/multi‑mode mechanisms and cable‑driven parallel robots).
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following submissions are welcome:
- Papers
-
Paper categories: (i) Full papers with a length of 6 (min) to 12 (max) pages on the conference paper template; (ii) Short/industry/position papers with a length of 4 pages on the conference paper template.
-
To ensure originality, all submissions will be checked using an anti-plagiarism tool.
-
All submissions will be single‑blind and peer reviewed by at least two experts.
-
All papers should be written using the following template: paper_template.doc. Please do not change the margins of the template.
-
All accepted and presented full papers will be published in Springer Mechanism and Machine Science series which is indexed by Scopus and Ei Compendex. Please note that the accepted and presented 4-page papers will not be included in the Springer series.
-
Consistent with past editions, special‑issue invitations are anticipated (subject to negotiation) for leading journals in mechanisms and robotics.
-
Use of third-party materials: Since the accepted full papers will be published in a Springer book, please familiarize yourself with the Springer Nature Guide to Copyright and Permissions, which contains advice on including third-party content or material that you have created yourself and published elsewhere in your manuscript. Third-party content is defined as any material within the manuscript that is not your original work. Third party content may consist of text passages, figures, photos, poems, song lyrics, screenshots, etc. and be found in many places such as, but not limited to, the Internet, print and online books and articles, theses, annual reports, conference material, photocopies, course packages, and translations. In particular, you should pay close attention to sensitive images containing identifiable persons, logos, brands/trademarks, images from agencies, or from the Internet as well as text content such as song lyrics, poems, interviews, social media content and references to commercial entities.
-
Policy on using AI: Authors can use AI to edit the English language of their papers (language polishing), not to generate the text of the paper, not to create images, and not to generate the list of references. The authors should make sure that they do not list fake references, or irrelevant/unrelated references. All the submitted papers will be screened against such kind of misbehavior, and if detected, the papers will be rejected irrevocably.
-
For more information about Springer proceedings, please visit SpringerNature's proceedings website.
-
Post-acceptance: After paper acceptance, the authors should submit their final papers along with the signed Contributor Agreement Form and the Permissions Request Form (if applicable when using third-party materials).
-
Post-acceptance: At least one author of each accepted paper must register and present in person unless explicitly approved for remote presentation.
