SIMPS 2023
The demand of electricity continues to grow day by day and efficient and cleaner sources of energy become increasing in the 21st century. Energy is defined to perform work, whereas power is the rate at which that energy is delivered. Its use or consumption is frequently used as a proxy for one's standard of living. To make life easier and convenient, we use energy in the different forms like firewood, natural gas, electricity and many more. Understanding societal needs, this textbook offers various branches of Smart Power Systems, covering the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) with the power grid. The book delves into efficient power distribution with AI-IoT and ML-based methodologies, power quality checking, and control using smart intelligence-based methods. It also presents smart intelligence-aided power and energy management, and the role of blockchain technology in creating smart power systems. With practical case studies and real-world examples, this textbook is ideal for students, researchers, and professionals in the fields of electrical engineering, power systems, and renewable energy who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in the emerging field of smart power systems.
