Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to present a way to adapt the Jena framework for fuzzy inference. This is necessary, because the Jena framework has no built-in way to infer using fuzzy values. The Jena framework with the ability of fuzzy inference implies as part of a Semantic Web Expert System, which is being designed to use OWL (Web Ontology Language) ontologies from the Web, to generate rules from these ontologies and to supplement or even to develop its knowledge base in automatic mode. Available publications show that the problem of the Jena framework adaptation for fuzzy inference is not investigated deeply enough.
