Abstract

Increase in global population has led to a corresponding increase in demand for electric power. Electric utilities transport electric power from the generation sources to the distribution stations through transmission lines. However, the power system's transmission network experiences some losses in the process of transmitting electric power. Therefore, this research paper provides an overview of the various losses associated with electric power transmission in a power system.

Keyphrases: copper losses, core losses, Non-technical losses, Technical losses, Transformer losses
