Roles and environments

This article explains the meaning of Role and Environment within EasyChair.

Role

EasyChair is a role-based system. When you are logged in to EasyChair and are viewing a page, your current role is displayed in the upper left corner.

Each of the EasyChair environments has its own roles. The collection of roles by the environment is the following.

  1. My EasyChair environment uses the so-called main role.
  2. Conference environment uses the roles of superchairchairtrack chairsenior PC memberPC membersubreviewer, and author. The roles of superchair and track chair are only used in multi-track conferences. The role of  senior PC member is only available in some reviewing models.
  3. Proceedings environment uses the roles of proceedings Manager and proceedings author.
  4. Smart program environment uses the roles of program manager and program author. It will also have the role of session chair.
  5. Registration environment uses the roles of registration manager and registrant/attendee
  6. Smart CFP environment uses the roles of CFP manager and CFP user

This environment implements features for working with your EasyChair account as well as the information about your conferences, roles and CFPs. It's main menu uses this color:

Conference management environment

The conference management environment is the largest EasyChair environment implementing features for paper submission and reviewing. It's main menu uses this color:

Proceedings environment

Proceedings environment in EasyChair allows you to create proceedings, collect papers for them, invite authors and check papers submitted by them. It's main menu uses this color:

Smart Program environment

This environment's features allow you to create a program for your conference. A smart schedule with information about, rooms, sessions and talks as well as session chairs is generated here. It's main menu uses this color:

Registration environment

This environment allows you to register attendees for the conference. Here you can create and edit event’s registration form and set prices for the conference entrance fees. It's main menu uses this color:

Smart CFP environment

Smart CFP is an environment in EasyChair that allows conference organizers to publish conference calls for papers and for authors to find calls relevant to them. It is integrated with the rest of EasyChair. It's main menu uses this color:
